Dr. López is President of the Instituto Provincial de Juegos y Casinos de Mendoza
Dr. Ida Magdalena López of Argentina has been elected to the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) Board of Trustees.
Dr. López is President of the Instituto Provincial de Juegos y Casinos de Mendoza (IPJyC), having led Mendoza’s gaming regulatory agency since 2019. She was elected President of the Asociación de Loterías Estatales de Argentina (ALEA) in 2024, becoming the first woman to lead Argentina’s prestigious association of provincial government gaming and lottery authorities. She was re-elected as President of ALEA in 2026 and also serves as First Vice President of the Corporación Iberoamericana de Loterías y Apuestas de Estado (CIBELAE).
“Ida’s experience will greatly enhance IAGR’s ability to engage on critical regulatory issues with members around the world,” said Ben Haden, President of IAGR. “Her stature will strengthen IAGR’s presence in South America, which has become a focal point of regulatory innovation and thinking.”
“A talented lawyer and organisational leader, Dr. López has been at the forefront of modernizing Argentina’s gaming regulatory framework. “Ida’s leadership extends far beyond Argentina’s borders and provides her with a rare perspective that will enhance IAGR’s growing portfolio of collaboration initiatives,” said IAGR Vice-President Brian Krolicki.
Dr. López said she is honored to be elected to the IAGR Board and to be a featured speaker at its Annual Conference in Lima, Peru, October 19-22. “While the markets and government structures vary among jurisdictions, today’s regulators find themselves confronting many of the same challenges,” López said. “IAGR plays an essential role in facilitating collaboration on our most critical issues, and I look forward to contributing a South American perspective in those activities.”
The theme for the IAGR Annual Conference, “Steady hands, shifting ground: Advancing regulation in a connected world,” will examine how regulators and stakeholders can improve regulatory oversight as technology, markets, and risks continue to evolve. Sessions will address the industry’s most pressing challenges and opportunities, with a focus on strengthening cross-jurisdictional cooperation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of gaming regulation and facilitate better outcomes.
