Latvia – Latest revenue figures show significant market growth

The Lotteries and Gambling Supervisory Inspection of Latvia has released the latest revenue figures for Latvia’s regulated online gambling market, reporting a 14 per cent increase in GGR to €237m over the first nine months of 2019.

The latest figures show that state-licensed gambling operators generated a combined revenue of €237m in the nine months preceding September 30, a 12.2 per cent rise over the same period last year. Over €171m was generated by gambling machines, a nine per cent rise on 2018, and gaming tables were up by just less than three per cent to €13m.

Latvia’s 15 licensed operators and the state-owned lottery Latvijas Loto saw GGR from gambling operations increase 15 per cent to €225m, with other gaming activity in bars and billiards halls contributing a further €12m.

Latvia’s nine licensed online operators contributed €39m of revenue, a 35.5 per improvement on the previous year. Casino games rose by 38 per cent to €28m, sports betting by 28 per cent to €11m and card games by 78 per cent to €300k.
