Lichtenstein – Novo Swiss Group and Gryphon Invest take control of Casino Maximus

By - 11 February 2022

Casino Maximus, which is still to open its doors in the Lichtenstein city of Schaan, has new owners with two well-known companies in the Lichtenstein sector taking control of the casino’s operating company MCL Resorts.

Gryphon Management (FL) AG, a subsidiary of Gryphon Invest AG and part of the Novo Swiss Group, will hold a 60 per cent stake and W-LI Holding AG, based in Gamprin-Bendern, will hold a 40 per cent stake in the MCL Resorts AG.

Managing Director Tobias Peter Abel welcomed the new partnership in a statement, saying that the Novo Swiss Group has not only proven itself to be a reputable investor through years of industry know-how, but is also perceived as a responsible employer in the Principality of Liechtenstein.

The Novo Swiss Group operates casinos in Ruggell and Triesen.

Birgit Wimmer, President of the Board of Directors of Gryphon Management, said: “We want to continue to grow organically with convincing concepts in the Liechtenstein casino market.”

Johannes Weissengruber is behind W-LI Holding AG. He has many years of experience as an entrepreneur in the gaming industry and already holds a 40 per cent stake in the Grand Casino in Bendern.

It is still unclear when the casino, which originally intended to open in spring 2021, will actually open its doors
