Macau’s Ponte 16 casino sees huge swing in EBITDA

Success Universe, a part owner of Macau’s Ponte 16 casino, generated profit HK$169.3m (US$21.6m) in 2023 with the casino playing a vital role.
Success Universe holds a 49 per cent stake in Ponte 16 operator Pier 16 – Property Development, with Macau concessionaire SJM Resorts S.A. holding the other 51 per cent. The casino of Ponte 16 operates with 109 gaming tables in operation, consisting of 103 mass tables and 6 high-limit tables. The average occupancy rate of Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16 reached approximately 83 per cent for the year ended December 31 2023, up from 48 per cent last year, with an Adjusted EBITDA of HK$334.1m, up from HK$46.2m.

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) recorded almost 1.4m visitor arrivals to Macau during the eight-day Chinese New Year holidays beginning on 10 February 2024, returning to approximately 98.8 per cent of the level recorded during the same holiday period in 2019.
