Nevada revenues fall in comparison to last March’s best ever slot total

Year-on-year comparisions to Nevada’s best ever slot total last March, saw state gaming win fall for the first time in eight months in March.

Nevada’s 444 major casinos generated $1.29bn from gamblers while the 220 casinos in Clark County generated $1.132bn and the Strip’s 61 casinos, brought in $715.9m. The 1.7 per cent fall in statewide gaming revenues, included a 1.6 per cent decline in Clark County and a 1.2 per cent dip in Strip revenue. However revenue for the year so remain ahead of previous-year levels.

Of the 20 smaller markets, 12 were down in March with downtown Las Vegas slipping the most; 12.9 per cent to $76.2m.

Baccarat play remained strong with the casino taking $114.7m, marking a 75.5 per cent rise over last March. Nevada sportsbooks won $29.8n, down 32.1 per cent from a year earlier with bets down by 5.5 perc cent but players getting luckier this year.
