Panama – Panamanians gambled over $2.5 billion in first 10 months of 2023

According to information published by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC), Panamanians gambled USD2.515 billion between January and October 2023 on gambling and the lottery. This was a 12% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.

Panamanians gambled USD1,864 million via casinos, bingos, online betting, horse racing and sporting betting while USD651.5 million was bet via the National Charity Lottery.

According to the entity’s report, bets on type A slot machines (slots in fully fledged casinos) reached USD1.527 billion – 81.96 percent of the total gambling market.

In second place was the National Charity Lottery, which recorded USD651.5 million, while online gambling stood at $182.3 million. Panamanians gambled USD104.9 million on gaming tables.

Horse racing betting stood at USD28.5 million, while USD14.5 million was bet in sports betting locations. Meanwhile USD6.2 million was gambled in bingo halls.
