Poland – Century forced to close Polish casinos

By - 22 March 2021

Century Casinos temporarily closed its Polish casinos on March 19, 2021 through April 9, 2021, subject to potential extensions, to comply with quarantines issued by the Polish government to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The Poland operating segment contributed one per cent of the company’s Adjusted EBITDA for the year ended December 31, 2020.

Century said: “The COVID-19 situation continues to evolve rapidly, and it currently appears that due to the pandemic’s current scope it will adversely impact the company at least through the first half of 2021.”

For Poland the latest three-week lockdown is nationwide, although it is less restrictive than the one brought in a year ago. Officials say the latest surge is due to a more transmissible mutation first identified in Britain that is spreading quickly throughout the country.
