South Korea – Mohegan Inspire completes 63 per cent of its Phase One build

By - 2 May 2023

Mohegan Inspire remains on schedule to open by the fourth quarter of the year having reached 63 per cent completion of its first phase.

The initial phase of the $1.49bn project, includes a three-tower luxury hotel with 1,256 rooms, a 15,000-seat arena to host concerts and sporting events, a foreigner-only casino with 700 slot machines, an all-year indoor water park, theme park, dining and shopping area.

Located in the International Business Area (IBC) near Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport, Mohegan Inspire is building the largest integrated resort in Northeast Asia in four phases. Located within 4 hour by car from Seoul and major metropolitan areas and 1 hours from major cities in Northeast Asia, it aims to become a representative integrated resort in Northeast Asia.

Chen Si, Chief Operating Officer, said: “We’re sitting on 4.3 million square meters of land, roughly the same size of Yeouido. It’s our goal to attract foreign visitors to the arena to appreciate Korean culture, especially live entertainment and art. Our strategy is to leverage proximity to the airport to drive business companies from the rest of the Asia-Pacific to host meetings in our facility and benefit the economy here. We’re hoping to complete construction with our partner Hanwha by September and start opening the resort in the fourth quarter.”

Mohegan Inspire completed the exterior work in February by attaching about 5,3 glass windows to major buildings, including three five-star hotel towers and Korea’s first multi-purpose performance arena.

Mohegan Inspire aims to open in the fourth quarter of this year as planned, creating a variety of spaces that combine differentiated design, cutting-edge technology and attractive entertainment elements, including three 4-star hotels with different concepts and styles called Earth Tower, Sky Tower, and Wind Tower.

Mohegan added: “In line with our goal of creating the largest integrated resort in Northeast Asia, we will provide the best facilities, services and entertainment experiences for visitors from all generations and cultures around the world.”
