Former FanDuel executive brings extensive US gaming experience to support The Unit’s continued international growth

The Unit, a leader in product design and development for the betting and casino industry, has appointed experienced gaming executive Fiona Power as Chief Commercial Officer as the company continues to expand its international business.

Based in New York, Power joins The Unit on a contract basis and will work alongside The Unit’s existing commercial leadership, including Co-Founder Paddy Casey and Chief Revenue Officer Mark O’Hare, as the company looks to build on its recent growth and further expand its client and partner network in the U.S. and internationally. Her role will focus on commercial strategy, market analysis and the development of new strategic partnerships.

Alongside her role with The Unit, Power will continue as Founder and Principal of Power Room Éire Partnerships & Advisory, a boutique consultancy focused on strategic partnerships, market entry and operational execution across the global gaming and sports betting industry. Through the consultancy, Power advises operators, suppliers and investors on navigating the U.S. market, structuring strategic partnerships and delivering targeted commercial initiatives.

Power brings extensive experience across the gaming and sports betting industries, including more than 12 years with Flutter Entertainment and senior leadership roles at FanDuel. During her time as Senior Director of Partner Relations at FanDuel, she has led complex, multi-state partnership agreements and played a key role in building and launching more than 20 retail sportsbooks across the United States.

Throughout her career, Power has worked across operators, tribes, suppliers and rights holders, combining partnership development with hands-on operational execution in highly regulated markets.

“I’ve known The Unit and its reputation in the industry for some time, and I’ve been very impressed by the growth of the business and the high quality of its output,” said Fiona Power, Chief Commercial Officer at The Unit. “There is a real depth of betting and gaming expertise across its hubs in Europe and the U.S., combined with a strong track record for solving complex challenges for operators.

“I’m excited to work alongside Paddy, Mark and the wider team to build on that foundation. There is a significant opportunity to develop new partnerships, anticipate where the market is heading, and connect The Unit’s capabilities with businesses that can benefit from them. I’m really looking forward to getting started and playing my part in the next stage of The Unit’s growth.”

As Chief Commercial Officer, Power will work closely with The Unit’s existing sales function while taking a broader role in the company’s commercial development. Her remit will include market analysis, identifying emerging opportunities across betting and gaming, partnership development and supporting the continued growth of The Unit’s international client base.

“Fiona brings a truly exceptional combination of commercial experience, industry knowledge and a deep understanding of the US gaming market,” said Paddy Casey, Co-Founder of The Unit. “She has spent more than a decade building partnerships and delivering complex projects in one of the most competitive and highly regulated markets in the world, and that experience will be incredibly valuable as we continue to grow.

“Fiona has a proven ability to identify opportunities, bring the right people together and turn strategy into execution, and we’re absolutely delighted to welcome her to the team.”

The appointment comes during a period of significant expansion for The Unit, which has grown its global workforce from 75 to more than 140 employees across Ireland, Moldova, Gibraltar and the United States. The Unit recently expanded its development operations in Chișinău, Moldova, moving into a new 500 sq. m. hub. Across its global offices, the company delivers specialist product development services, including frontend and backend engineering, mobile development, AI module development, Web3 smart contract engineering, UI/UX design, technical consultancy and dedicated development teams for betting and iGaming businesses worldwide.
