US – Caesars Horseshoe Baltimore to launch 150 slot/20 table smoking terrace

By - 25 November 2019

Caesars Entertainment will open a smoking terrace at Caesars Horseshoe Baltimore which at 10,500-square-foot and with 150 slots and 20 tables is as big as an entire casino in many other markets.

Complete with a roof and adjustable awnings, the patio will offer a controlled environment which can be changed in conjunction with the weather.

Scheduled to open on December 5, the $15m terrace will create 150 jobs and according to Horseshoe General Manager Randy Conroy will ‘broaden’ the casino’s appeal with ‘elaborate ceiling heaters’ to keep players comfortable.

“We are very bullish about this market and are willing to invest into the Horseshoe Baltimore and the City of Baltimore,” Mr. Conroy said.

Horseshoe General Manager Erin Chamberlin added: “If you have the same game indoors and outdoors, the game outdoors performs even better.

The property already has several slot machines on an outdoor balcony, which have proven popular with players

The casino will also open a pilot rewards concept with an interactive center with a ‘modern Apple store’ look with interactive audio and video to highlight attractions at the Horseshoe and at Caesars’ wider portfolio.

A Topgolf facility is also being planned as the casino looks to non-gambling attractions to bolster its appeal.
