UK – Clarion continues to drive fundraising for CHIPS at charity golf

By - 30 October 2018

Clarion Gaming has continued its support of CHIPS, the gaming industry charity that supplies powered wheelchairs to children with severe mobility issues, by entering two teams into the recent CHIPS Charity Golf Tournament, an event which raised a total of £40,000.

Clarion launched its association with CHIPS at ICE London 2018 when it presented a lightweight wheelchair to Harley Hickling-Allen. The five year old has a medical condition, MLCRD syndrome, which causes problems with both balance and the control of his muscles. Linda Lindsay, who co-founded CHIPS, stated: “I am hugely grateful that Clarion Gaming is supporting a charity that was created by the gaming industry. ICE London has, and continues to play, a pivotal role as the must-attend business event for the international gaming industry and virtually all of our supporters participate in ICE either as exhibitors or delegates. To have such a flagship event supporting CHIPS is wonderful.”

Kate Chambers, Managing Director of Clarion Gaming, added: “CHIPS is a wonderful charity that’s run by personalities from within the industry and is supported by a wide range of gaming organisations. I am delighted to be able to partner CHIPS, which continues to do so much positive work in helping to change the lives of so many children and their families.”

Thanks to donations from the broadly based gaming industry, CHIPS, which is registered with the Charity Commission, has raised more than £2.2m and purchased in excess of 520 bespoke wheelchairs for children and their families.
