By - 10 June 2014

Grosvenor Casinos has walked away with two awards from the Women in Gaming Awards that took place last Friday 6 June 6.

Now in its fifth year, the Women in Gaming Awards allow employers to recognise female team members within their organisation and their contribution to the success of their business.

Cath Riley, General Manager at Grosvenor Casino Leo, Liverpool won the Inspiration of the Year Award. This award was judged on the woman whose efforts bring about positive cultural change for women within the workplace and the support of development of women in business. A mother of two, Cath has worked in the casino industry for over 21 years and is known for leading her team with empathy, determination and understanding. She recognises that work is just one element of the life puzzle and encourages her team to fit everything in.

Paul Benton, Operations Director for Grosvenor Casinos, said: “Cath has become a role model for women on how to lead a team of managers and customers through a significant period of change, in a way that has fully engaged all and achieved positive outcomes. She’s an inspiration to anyone who works with her.”

In the second win of the evening, Fiona Regan and the Human Resources team were awarded the Team of the Year Award (land based). This award was for the best team, led by a woman that contributed to the company’s success over the last twelve months.

Phil Urban, Managing Director at Grosvenor Casino, added: “We are extremely proud of all our team members at Grosvenor Casinos and to have not one but two winners at this prestigious event is a real testament to them. On top of this, we had three additional finalists and we want to thank them also for their hard work. We always set ourselves extremely high standards and to receive external recognition makes us all very proud.”
