Uruguay – Enjoy to reopen in Punte del Este after eight month closure

By - 13 November 2020

Enjoy Casino in Punte del Este, on the Atlantic Coast of southeastern Uruguay, will be reopening its doors on December 11 following a closure of eight months as the government in Uruguay try to control the spread of COVID-19.

The casino’s General Manager Ignacio Sarmiento said: “When all this started, we painfully closed our complex. It was time to heed the recommendations of the authorities to stay at home and avoid any activity that could facilitate the spread of the virus. Since last March, we have not stopped working and looking for alternatives to make our return. We were very close to our people, our collaborators and their families, to listen to their needs, to attend to their concerns and concerns, to support them in different ways throughout this long process.”

“After so many months, and once again demonstrating our commitment to tourism and to the country, we can say with great joy that Enjoy Punta del Este will open its doors again this December 11, in a first phase of reopening our operations. With the proper health protocols and in full agreement with the national authorities, this will allow us to reinforce the country strategy of inviting Uruguayans and those who are not already residing in our country, to vacation in Punta del Este, and that Enjoy can be a Another option to promote domestic tourism, “said the executive.

“In line with our culture of innovation, and supported by the required protocols and distancing, we look for opportunities in the new normal to offer new entertainment proposals, new slot and table arrangements, as well as new entertainment spaces,” said Mr. Sarmiento.

The casino will also open a new sports betting area for the first time with Enjoy Win SportsBar, allowing guests to enjoy the transmission of sporting events from around the world, play on the platform ‘for fun’ and Enjoy Win for free.

“This first reopening phase, which will take place during the summer season, will allow some of our collaborators to return to their tasks and for our suppliers to operate again. And at the same time, it will enable us to receive Uruguayans and foreigners who already reside in our country in our complex, and add our offer to the internal tourism proposal promoted by the national government,” Mr Sarmiento explained.
