US – AGEM surveys members over ICE dates

By - 15 December 2021

During the AGEM Monthly Meeting held yesterday in Las Vegas and via Zoom, the membership elected to hold a vote on the proposal to postpone February’s ICE London event by two months, until April/May. Members had met with ICE show representatives, Clarion Events Managing Director, Alex Pratt and Fulwood Media’s Kate Chambers, earlier in the session, to discuss the arrangements for the UK exhibition.

Clarion explained the details of event registration, travel requirements and expectations for visitation as part of the briefing, but the consensus among AGEM members was that the financial risks were mounting ahead of a go/no-go cut-off point.  Slot machine manufacturers expressed their concern that shipping deadlines for ICE were fast approaching and a redline was being drawn as regards to participation. AGEM is now canvassing its members to find out whether the association’s 170+ companies believe the show should be held in February as planned, should push back several months, or be cancelled into 2023. Results of the survey are due by the end of the week, but the expectation is that members’ preferred option would be to postpone the event into April/May.
