Scientific Games has signed an agreement to deploy its full OpenSports platform solution with Casino Del Sol, an enterprise of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, in Tucson, Arizona.
The tribal casino has selected the sports betting technology from Scientific Games to power its first ever sportsbook, SolSports. Wagering on sporting events will be available at a retail sportsbook on site at Casino Del Sol, as well as self-service sports betting kiosks located throughout the casino and at its sister property, Casino of the Sun.
Casino Del Sol and Casino of the Sun will gain access to the full sports betting offering combining the OpenBet engine with OpenTrade, the risk and liability management service powered by Don Best Sports.
The partnership is the latest addition to Scientific Games’ network of tribal customers across North America and the company’s first market entry into Arizona, following the legalisation of sports betting in the state in April 2021.
Kimberly Van Amburg, CEO of Casino Del Sol, said: “In launching our first sportsbook, we partnered with Scientific Games due to their technical expertise.
“The OpenSports solution is a robust and scalable platform that can withstand all the pressures associated with major sporting events, while providing customers with an extensive range of markets. We are confident our guests will enjoy the new SolSports sportsbook and we can’t wait to go live later this year.”
Cathryn Lai, SVP & GM U.S., Digital at Scientific Games, added: “Casino Del Sol and Casino of the Sun have both worked tirelessly to become leading casinos in Arizona and we are sure this new partnership can go from strength to strength in the newly regulated state.
“We believe Arizona’s sports betting market will grow rapidly in size and we look forward to providing customers with a first-class offering.”
