US – Desert Diamond Casino West Valley to open on February 19

By - 17 February 2020

The new Desert Diamond Casino West Valley in Arizona will open its doors to the public on February 19 with a private event for tribal members and dignitaries, featuring remarks from Tohono O’odham Nation leaders and a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The new Desert Diamond Casino West Valley is a 1.2m sq. ft. facility featuring over 1,100 slot machines, 36 poker tables, and 48 blackjack tables, as well as five dining venues, VIP lounge, and more. The new facility replaces the interim casino that had been operating since December 2015.

It is being built by the Tohono O’odham Nation.

Rudy Prieto, CEO of all four Desert Diamond casinos, said: “This place is going to raise the bar for the casino industry in Arizona.”

“We are super excited to be ready to be providing a new fun facility for our guests,” said Treena Parvello, a spokeswoman for the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise, added.

The new West Valley casino will be more than double the foot print of the temporary casino with five dining spaces, a 400-seat live bingo floor and a VIP gaming area and lounge for high-limit gamblers. A two-story bar overlooks the casino floor.

Alongside 1,136 new slot machines, the gaming floor will have 36 poker tables and 48 blackjack tables.
