US – Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino names Andrew Economon as General Manager

Downtown Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino names Andrew Economon as general manager, who will oversee all vital hotel operations and its continued expansion. Economon’s industry experience spans over 20 years in executive positions around the globe, in food and beverage, entertainment, gaming operations, property development and management.

“I couldn’t be happier with my decision to join Downtown Grand and am truly humbled that I was asked to lead this outstanding team,” said Economon. “I look forward to all that we will accomplish through the end of this year and all that is to come in 2023 and beyond.”

Economon joined Downtown Grand in June from the Hard Rock Scaramento Mountain as vice president of hospitality, overseeing all aspects of the property. Before taking post at Downtown Grand, Economon’s experience was earned from Las Vegas, St. Louis, San Antonio, and cities in California, to countries such as Spain and Greece. He is a graduate of University of Houston’s Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, as well as The Culinary Institute of America, one of the top culinary arts schools in the world. Economon will help guide Downtown Grand’s expansion in the culinary space with the additions of Hot N’ Juicy, which is opening this fall and Yama Sushi, which is opening early next year.

Economon is active in the community and serves on various boards to support school districts and foundations along with the Chambers of Commerce, and he previously was a board member of the Epicurean Charitable Foundation.
