US – DraftKings introduces daily fantasy sports in Iowa

By - 29 October 2019

DraftKings has become the first operator to release daily fantasy sports (DFS) products in Iowa.

Recently passed legislation has enabled fantasy sports operators to offer paid fantasy contests in the state for the first time. Iowans are now free to experience DraftKings’ entire suite of DFS products.

Matt Kalish, chief revenue officer and co-founder at DraftKings, commented: “In time for the Week 8 games of NFL season and NBA tipoff, DraftKings is thrilled to show The Hawkeye State why we have been able to establish ourselves as a premier destination for sports fans who want skin in the game.

“We are excited to offer Iowans our daily fantasy products, featuring the largest prize pools you’ll find anywhere in the world.”

DraftKings has recently introduced a number of features to optimise the customer experience for all skill levels, including establishing a Fair Play Commitment Initiative to ensure a level playing field by prohibiting top earning or more experienced players from entering casual and beginner contests.

The fantasy sports operator has also formed a DraftKings Leagues, the first platform where players can create fully-customizable, private contests just for their friends or colleagues, together with launching new and enhanced variants including showdown and classic contests.
