US – Fully vaccinated guests no longer need masks at Wynn Las Vegas

By - 16 May 2021

Over the last weekend, Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Resort has told guests that they are not required to wear a mask if they are fully vaccinated and are required to wear a mask if they are not. The resort trusts guests to take the appropriate precautions based on their personal vaccination status.

Likewise, company employees will follow a similar policy. The company currently has a vaccination rate of 91 percent among its employees in Las Vegas and as a result, was granted permission by the Nevada Gaming Control Board to amend its occupancy and physical distancing requirements. Effective May 10, the gaming areas at both Wynn and Encore were permitted to run at 100 percent occupancy and plexiglass dividers were removed from all table games and slot machines.

Employees and guests of the resort will continue to follow health and safety guidelines and comply with current CDC and regulator guidelines to ensure and safe and healthy environment for all.

More casinos are now being approved to operate at 100 per cent capacity in Las Vegas. Boyd Gaming received approval on May 11 from the Nevada Gaming Control Board to return to 100 per centcapacity in gaming areas at all of its currently operating Nevada properties. This includes The Orleans, Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, Suncoast Hotel and Casino, Aliante Casino Hotel and Spa, Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, Cannery Casino and Hotel, California Hotel & Casino, Fremont Hotel & Casino and Jokers Wild Casino.

Boyd stated: “Masks are still required inside our properties, and all non-gaming areas remain at 80% capacity, in compliance with current government directives. In its communication to Boyd Gaming, the Control Board commended the company for its ongoing efforts to assist team members and their families in the vaccination process. These efforts include on-site vaccination centers at Boyd Gaming properties and the award of paid vacation time to hourly employees who complete their recommended vaccine dosage. Boyd Gaming shares the state of Nevada’s and Clark County’s commitment to getting as many local residents vaccinated as possible, and we will continue to do our part to encourage all Nevada residents to get vaccinated.”

Silverton Casino Lodge Las Vegas is also now at full capacity with the removal of social distancing restrictions and plexiglass dividers from gaming tables and slot machines, as well as full capacity at bars on the casino floor.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board’s approval comes after an initiative by Silverton to provide on-property vaccination clinics at no-cost to employees and their families for the last several weeks.

“We’ve been working hard to adjust with the ever-changing conditions to ensure the safest environment for our employees and guests,” said Silverton Casino Hotel President Robert Kunkle. “Our team answered the call to do their part to help return not only Silverton, but the city of Las Vegas, to a sense of normalcy, and for that, I am most grateful and proud.”
