US – GSN buys social casino studio Plumbee

GSN Games, a leading provider of social casino games and cash tournaments, has bought Plumbee, a social casino studio based in London.

Founded in 2011, Plumbee is best known for its successful Mirrorball Slots app, which boasts more than 10 million downloads on Facebook and mobile devices. The studio brings a team of more than 40 employees with a proven track record of creating innovative games for social casino audiences.

GSN Games acquires 100 per cent of Plumbee Ltd equity, which was previously backed by Endemol and Idinvest Partners. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“This important acquisition will immediately bolster GSN Games’ ambitious growth plans by leveraging the top talent and social casino expertise of Plumbee to create best-in-class winning experiences for our players,” said Steve Brunell, Chief Operating Officer of GSN. “We are also excited about the expansion of GSN Games into the United Kingdom, where we will look to capitalize on the high concentration of world-class gaming talent to supplement our outstanding Plumbee team.”

The addition of Plumbee reflects the continuing growth of GSN Games, which last year acquired Idle Gaming, the acclaimed developer of titles including Fresh Deck Poker and Slots of Fun. The acquisition added a new location in Zaporozhye, Ukraine and more than 20 employees total in San Francisco and Ukraine. With today’s acquisition of Plumbee, GSN Games now operates seven locations worldwide across Boston, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Washington, D.C., London, Bangalore and Zaporozhye.
