US – MGM Springfield ready to accept first sports bet on January 31

MGM Springfield and BetMGM will accept the state’s first sports wagers on January 31 at 10 a.m.
Joined by Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno and Boston Hockey Legend Ray Bourque, media are invited to capture the momentous occasion inside MGM Springfield’s marquee sports betting destination, the BetMGM Sportsbook & Lounge.
An MGM Springfield spokesperson said: “We’re excited to welcome new guests to experience MGM Springfield and hope that visitors come in to bet or cheer for their favorite New England team. In addition to allowing Massachusetts to bet on football, basketball, and more, sports betting will also help to keep more dollars in-state and will provide another critical revenue source as well as job opportunities for the local community. The addition of sports betting to MGM Springfield further enhances our position as New England’s premier entertainment and gaming destination”
The casino will have two state-of-the-art betting lounges and a betting area in its TAP Sports Bar.
The bigger of the two lounges has theater-style seats, a bar, and a bank of 40 HD TV monitors. There will also be18 sports betting kiosks and eight point-of-sale terminals.
Media check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. The first bet is set to take place at 10 a.m. Following the event, media will be able to capture interviews with the participants of the First Bet event
