Vietnam – Quang Ninh to launch tender for US$2.1bn casino resort

The Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee wants to launch a tender by the end of the year to find the operator of a US$2.1bn casino resort in the Van Economic Zone in Quang Ninh, Vietnam.
The venue would be the second casino in Vietnam where locals are allowed to gamble. The bidding process would include an auction for land use rights of land covering 244.5 hectares. the casino will build will take around nine years with a view to opening in 2032. It would aim to be a premium tourist destination in Van Yen village. The Ministry of Planning and Investment has already submitted a report to the Prime Minister looking to pave the way for the tender.
The Quang Ninh authorities have outlined that the venue would be a high-end integrated resort and entertainment complex for ‘electronic games and events of international stature,’ including a casino, real estate, tourism services, hotel and resort villas.
