BallyBet to launch in Massachusetts by the end of June

By - 17 April 2024

Bally Bet will launch its sportsbetting platform in Massachusetts by the end of June.

Bally’s was given an online sports betting operator license in January 2023 but has watched rivals BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, ESPN Bet, Fanatics Sportsbook, and FanDuel all launch in Massachusetts. Betr and WynnBet also launched but subsequently pulled the plug on their operations. It has now fulfilled regulatory steps, including equipment inspections and final approval of internal controls.

Brett Calapp, Bally’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “Our commitment is strong here. We’re really excited to be in the state. This is a state with such a rich sports history.”

Massachusetts Gaming Commission’s interim chair Jordan Maynard said: “The eagerness comes out of the fact that we believe that to stamp out the illegal market and give people the protections that Massachusetts provides, it’s good to have options. Having someone that we’ve started with the licensing process, a group come in and actually get going, is exciting to us.”
