Bally’s Corporation has completed its acquisition of Sam’s Town Shreveport from Boyd Gaming, expanding its regional casino portfolio and increasing its presence in the Louisiana gaming market. The transaction, which received approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, adds the established riverboat casino and hotel to Bally’s portfolio. The property will be rebranded under the Bally’s name in the near future.
Soo Kim, Chairman of Bally’s Corporation, said: “Today’s closing marks an important milestone for Bally’s as we continue to expand our presence in key regional markets and invest in destinations with strong long-term potential. We appreciate Boyd Gaming’s partnership and professionalism throughout this process and thank the Louisiana Gaming Control Board for its thoughtful review and approval of the transaction.” He added: “We look forward to welcoming the Sam’s Town Shreveport team to Bally’s and working closely with regulators, local leaders and employees to ensure a smooth transition. Louisiana is an important market for our company, and we are excited about the opportunities ahead.”
Bally’s said it will focus on integrating the property into its portfolio while ensuring a smooth transition for employees and customers and assessing opportunities to enhance the venue’s gaming and hospitality offering. The acquisition was also welcomed by entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who has invested in Shreveport’s entertainment district.
Jackson said: “I’m excited for Bally’s expansion in Shreveport as we continue investing in the city’s future. Together, we have an opportunity to create new entertainment, dining and retail experiences that attract visitors, support local businesses and contribute to Shreveport’s continued growth.” The deal marks another step in Bally’s strategy to expand its regional casino operations across North America.
