Operator is already considering ways to strengthen its gaming offerings
After numerous appeals, gaming is once again taking centre stage at the Berck-sur-Mer casino in the Pas-de-Calais region of France. The venue has been operated by Infiniti Casino since January and opened on July 8.
And after six weeks of operation, the results are more than positive for the Belgian group, which also manages the casinos in Grasse in France and Dinant and Ostend in Belgium. This success could prompt the concession holder to expand its gaming offerings sooner than anticipated.
Jesús Espino, Casino Director, said to Journal des Casinos: “Since our reopening on July 9, we have seen particularly high attendance, with genuine public enthusiasm from the very first days. We were delighted to see our former customers again, who expressed their satisfaction at rediscovering their casino, as well as welcoming many new visitors. This is a very encouraging sign for us.”
“The reception has been extremely warm. We obviously sensed a great deal of anticipation surrounding this reopening, but the public’s enthusiasm has exceeded our expectations. There was a lot of emotion among customers who knew the old establishment and discovered a completely transformed space. They found their old habits again, but in a totally new environment,” he added.
The casino offers 71 slot machines, 20 electronic English roulette stations, and two blackjack tables, but it’s the overall experience offered by the new establishment that seems to have won over the public.
“We wanted to create a casino where people don’t just come to gamble, but also to have a good time, meet up, share experiences, and enjoy themselves,” Espino said, adding that the décor, immersive spaces, different themed areas, smoking terrace, comfort, and amenities have been very well received. “We also worked extensively on the atmosphere and the welcoming feel. We wanted customers to immediately feel at ease in a warm, comfortable, almost ‘cocooning’ environment. It’s a place where you can take your time, meet up with friends, as a couple, or with family, enjoy a drink, a meal, some entertainment, or simply have a pleasant time. That’s what pleases us most today: customers tell us they feel good here. This human and friendly dimension is essential to our project.”
The gaming offerings have been a hit with players, particularly the latest generation of slot machines and the two electronic English roulette tables, which are proving ‘a real success, especially thanks to a progressive jackpot option offered as a preview.’
“Finally, our DRGT system, linked to the casino membership card, provides true flexibility. Customers can easily switch machines and move between the different areas of the establishment. They can go from the gaming area to the restaurant, from the restaurant to the bar, and then return to play, without any restrictions. This freedom in the customer journey is paramount for us,” explained Espino.
This fluidity is also reflected in the dining options, with the Brassi restaurant offering bistronomic cuisine made with high-quality ingredients, and the circular bar, a true central and convivial hub of the establishment, which connects the different areas and creates a very welcoming atmosphere.
Given the enthusiasm surrounding the new casino in Berck-sur-Mer, the question of expanding the gaming offerings has already taken root in the minds of Infiniti Casino’s decision-makers. “Considering the positive reception our offerings have received since opening, we are obviously paying close attention to this issue. The first few weeks have already allowed us to gather valuable information about our customers’ expectations, the most popular games, and peak times of visit. We are therefore considering how to develop our gaming facilities and the possibility of gradually expanding our offerings. However, we want to do so in a coherent and thoughtful manner, preserving what defines the casino today: a human-scale establishment that is warm, comfortable, and welcoming. Our goal is not to expand the building to add more machines. Above all, we want to continue improving the experience we offer our customers and adapt our offerings to their expectations. We want to begin by precisely analysing our customers’ behaviour and needs before determining the optimal capacity of our gaming facilities,” explained Espino.
During the 2024-2025 financial year, the Berck-sur-Mer casino, then operated by the Partouche group, generated gross gaming revenue of €5.71m. This performance placed it 130th in the French rankings.
