BOYLE Sports to open 400th shop at Galway Racecourse
BOYLE Sports will open its 400th retail betting shop at Galway Racecourse as part of a new three-year partnership with the Galway Races.
BOYLE Sports has signed a new three-year partnership with the Galway Races that will see the bookmaker open its 400th retail betting shop at Galway Racecourse.
The new on-course betting shop at Ballybrit will form part of a wider agreement that includes increased branding, race sponsorship opportunities and enhanced customer engagement throughout the racing calendar.
The partnership builds on BOYLE Sports’ existing relationship with the venue, where it already sponsors Saturday’s feature card during the Galway Races festival, including the BOYLE Sports Handicap Hurdle and Galway Tribes Hurdle.
The opening marks a significant milestone for the bookmaker, which recently announced plans to invest £100m in expanding its UK operations while continuing to grow its presence in Ireland.
Sinéadh Crowe, Head of Irish Retail Operations at BOYLE Sports, said: “Opening our 400th shop here marks a major milestone in the BOYLE Sports journey and reflects just how far we’ve come since John Boyle set up his first shop in County Armagh in 1982.”
She added: “The Galway Races is one of the standout events in the Irish sporting calendar, so we’re delighted to be strengthening our relationship with the racecourse through this new multi-year partnership.”
Michael Moloney, CEO of Galway Racecourse, said: “It’s a real privilege to have BOYLE Sports open their 400th shop here on-site as part of this exciting new multi-year partnership with Galway Races.”
The agreement further strengthens BOYLE Sports’ involvement in Irish horse racing, where the operator also serves as title sponsor of the Irish Grand National and supports race meetings at venues including Leopardstown, Navan and Killarney.
