Chile – SJC Grants 15 year extension to Casino Marina del Sol Calama

The Chilean Gaming Casinos Superintendency (SCJ), announced that it had granted an extension to Latin Gaming Calama’s casino license to continue the operation of Casino Marina del Sol Calama, located in the Antofagasta region, for the next 15 years.
Through a statement, the company highlighted that the renewal of its operations in Calama positioned Marina del Sol as one of the entertainment holdings with the largest presence in Chile.
At the same time, the extension of the license ensures the job continuity of the hundreds of workers and also guarantees, for the next 15 years, the monthly contribution to the Municipality and the Regional Government of the Antofagasta Region the company said.
“This news represents how Marina del Sol has managed to position itself as a successful operator within the region,” the company stated. They went on to say that in this new period, which lasts until 2039, the casino will continue its growth axis to provide “a safe and comprehensive service” for those who visit it every day of the year.
The general manager of Casino Marina del Sol Calama, Cristian Pérez, stated that the news reflected the company’s continued commitment to local development, the community and the Antofagasta Region overall.
Calama is a city and commune in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile. It is the capital of El Loa Province, part of the Antofagasta Region.
This is the second license renewal for the company this year. In January the SJC issued a certificate that authorized Marina del Sol S.A to continue to operate the Talcahuano casino for an additional period of 15 years.
