Churchill Downs Incorporated has agreed to acquire the outstanding 49 per cent interest in United Tote held by NYRA Content Management Solutions, restoring full ownership of the pari-mutuel wagering technology provider.

The transaction is expected to close on or around 5 August, subject to customary closing conditions.

Alongside the acquisition, the New York Racing Association has extended its agreement with United Tote through 2035, ensuring the company will continue to provide pari-mutuel wagering technology and totalisator services to one of North America’s largest racing organisations.

Churchill Downs said full ownership of United Tote will strengthen its ability to invest in wagering technology while simplifying the company’s ownership structure.

Chief Executive Officer Bill Carstanjen said the transaction further strengthens Churchill Downs’ strategic position in racing technology and secures a long-term relationship with NYRA.

United Tote provides pari-mutuel wagering systems and services to racetracks, off-track betting facilities and advance-deposit wagering operators throughout North America, making it a key technology asset within Churchill Downs’ racing portfolio.
