Manufacturer to ‘focus on core business priorities’

International Game Technology (IGT) has confirmed plans to shut down its electronic table games (ETG) division in 2027 to ‘focus on core business priorities.’

Spokesperson for IGT, Phill O’Shaughnessy, said: “IGT has made the decision to end-of-life operations of its ETG business in 2027 as part of our focus on core business priorities and long-term growth objectives. IGT will continue to provide its ETG customers with the level of support they expect regarding those products during this transition.”

Recent innovations in the ETG segment have included the launch of the Mesa 4K terminal, which allows players to track game statistics and view trends on screen. The Mesa 4K features a clear sightline to the wheel, ensuring an immersive and transparent gaming experience for players.

IGT also launched IGT GameAce, a platform that features a central processing unit and updated firmware that drastically improves processing speed and overall system stability.

Having completed its merger with fintech and slot manufacturer Everi last year, IGT made around ten per cent of its global workforce redundant, equating to about 700 members of staff, in a move that CEO Hector Fernandez said ‘reflects the structural alignment required to operate as one company, leverage our combined strengths, and compete with focus and discipline in a changing industry.’

Apollo completed the acquisitions of International Game Technology Gaming & Digital Business and Everi Holdings by a holding company owned by funds managed by Apollo affiliates for $6.3bn in July 2025.
