We’re not just a supplier; we’re industry experts and strategic partner to some of the biggest names in the industry.”

Walking around the exhibition floor at ICE 2024, it is obvious the industry as a whole is embracing the addition of AI in their offerings and deploying it in a variety of ways on the casino floor.

Koen Stomph, Vertical Industry Specialist in Gaming and Retail, explained: “AI is not just a buzzword, it’s becoming a game-changer in the casino industry and it’s happening now. AI processes vast amounts of player behaviour data that can enhances the gaming experience, ensures responsible gaming practices, and even customises gameplay.

“We already see AI enhancing surveillance systems for casino floors, detecting suspicious activities or unauthorised access. It can also identify patterns, preferences, and anomalies, to customise the gaming experience. It can prompt responsible gambling messages when needed, or can provide game suggestions based on habits as part of loyalty programmes.

“AI can also monitor player behaviour by recognising facial expressions such as a smile, for example, suggesting the player enjoyed a particular feature which can add valuable insights to player behaviours. At Advantech we have the required AI accelerating hardware readily available, which can also be a benefit to those looking at next generation mixtures of live- and electronic table games. We may just be at the beginning of AI in gaming and over time, legislators might need to have an open mind to different approaches, but it is happening now and we are ready for it”
