Lithuania – Lithuanian land-based sector falls by 39 per cent in 2020

With Lithuania’s land-based gambling sector closed from mid-March until mid-June in 2020 and again from November to the end of the year, it was left to a 47 per cent increase in online gaming to prop up annual revenue which still fell by 8.1 per cent to €103.5m.

The land-based sector generated GGR of €43.9m, a fall of 39.1 per cent compared to 2019.m with table gaming generating €10.2m and the retail sports betting bringing in €5.7m. Revenues for Lithuania’s lottery, Olifeja, were €106.3m, marking a fall of 6.7 per cent.

Revenue from category A online slots doubled, coming in at €29.4m, whilst revenue from category B online slots rose 47.4 per cent to €1.2m.
