Napoleon, which already runs the casino in Knokke-Heist, is owned by SuperBet
According to reports in Brussels, the city council has awarded its casino licence, currently operated under the Viage brand by Casinos Austria International, to Napoleon Games.
Naoplean Games will take over operations on January 1, 2027. The Mayor has awarded the licence for a period of 15 years. Casinos Austria has operated Viage since 2010.
Napoleon Games, which has been owned since 2021 by the Romanian group Superbet and is the owner of the Grand Casino Knokke in Knokke-Heist, was chosen as part of a concession call launched by the City of Brussels, which attracted six operators. Napoleon also operates 25 arcades throughout Belgium, employing around 400 people
According to Viage, the casino attracts ‘more than 310,000 visitors per year’ and covers a floor span of 14,300 m². Viage is one of nine casinos in Belgium, operating with a Class I gaming license. It is located on Boulevard Anspach, in the pedestrian area in the downtown area of the capital.
The Land and Economic Affairs Authority has estimated the value of this concession at 750m excluding VAT.
The City of Brussels said it was happy to ‘continue the development of an emblematic establishment in the city centre, a player in the tourist, economic and event attractiveness of the capital.’
