RocketPlay asks players what they enjoy most about the game

RocketPlay has held a campaign to find out what players enjoy most about the game with over 15,000 people sharing their answers

Alex Martin, PR Manager at RocketPlay, said: “Is it a win? The moment before the reels stop? A bonus feature opening at the right time? Or simply a few minutes to switch off and enjoy the game? RocketPlay asked players this question during its Cosmic Department of Joy campaign — and more than 15,000 players shared what Joy means to them when they play. The answers showed one thing clearly: winning matters, but Joy is bigger than the win.”

“What we liked most was how differently players described Joy,” said Alex Martin, PR Manager at RocketPlay. “For some, it was the win. For others, it was the build-up, the break from the day, or the game itself. It reminded us that a player’s experience is made of many small moments, not just one big result.”

“Many players talked about rewards, bonuses, Free Spins and unexpected winning moments. A surprise win or a bonus landing at the right time can easily become the highlight of a session. But players also described the feelings around the game: excitement, relaxation, anticipation, favourite features and the simple fun of playing.”

After reviewing the answers, RocketPlay identified four main ways players described Joy.

Reward was the strongest theme, appearing in 46.8 per cent of responses. Players connected Joy with wins, bonuses, Free Spins and unexpected prizes — the moments when something good lands and the whole session feels brighter.

Escape appeared in 18.8 per cent of responses, showing a calmer side of Joy. For many players, the game is also a way to relax, switch off and take a short break from everyday routine.

Play followed closely with 18.3 per cent. These answers focused on the game itself — fun features, variety, Free Spins, discovery and favourite slots players enjoy returning to.

Thrill appeared in 11.5 per cent of responses. This was about anticipation: the seconds before the result, the feeling that a feature is close, or the excitement of waiting to see what happens next.

Some player answers said it best:

“Switching off for a bit.” “Fun and excitement.” “A break from reality.” “The thrill of the win.”

For RocketPlay, the campaign was a way to hear directly from the people behind the game sessions.
