South Korea – Seoul casinos forced to shut up shop again as infections rise

By - 24 November 2020

Having recently had their capacity limits further reduced, casinos in the South Korean capital city of Seoul have now been told to close for two weeks due to the rise in COVID-19 infections.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government has increased the city’s restrictions to Level 2 forcing the closure of Seoul’s four foreigner-only casinos; Grand Korea Leisure’s two Seven Luck casinos and Paradise Co’s Paradise Walkerhill and Paradise City in Incheon.

Grand Korea leisure said it was closing ‘in accordance with the second stage of social distancing in the metropolitan area.’ It is expecting a lose of KRW5.1bn (US$4.6m) in its fourth quarter due to these latest closures.
