Xtip becomes Merkur Bets

Since 2013, the Merkur Group has been active in Germany as a licensed operator and broker of sports betting under the Xtip brand.

After 11 years, the East Westphalian company is now presenting its sports betting presence under a new name: Merkur Bets. This is accompanied by a changed brand image in the form of a new logo and design, as well as fundamental product changes and improvements in the online and brick-and-mortar sector. The innovations associated with the rebranding do not mean that existing customers need to take any action.

“The renaming of Xtip to Merkur Bets is not only a new beginning, it also offers the opportunity to establish a completely renewed approach to sports betting within the Merkur Group,” says Stefan Bruns, CEO Online Gambling and Sports Betting of the Merkur Group. “Following the renaming of the Gauselmann Group to the Merkur Group, the company is taking this logical step to underline the unity and charisma of the Merkur brand and is making a clear commitment to sports betting.”

The main product improvements relate to the onboarding process for new customers, navigation within the app and website, and the process of deposits and withdrawals. Both the company’s own operations and franchise partners who previously worked with Xtip, as well as all previous customers, have already been migrated to the Merkur Bets platform. The renaming of the foreign subsidiaries in Belgium (Betcenter), Austria and Denmark (both Cashpoint) is currently being planned.
