CIRSA has acquired a majority stake in Slots del Sol, Paraguay’s leading online casino operator, marking the company’s entry into the South American market as it continues to expand its international presence.
Slots del Sol operates the online casino platform slotsdelsolonline.com, alongside two land-based casinos and two gaming halls in Paraguay, giving CIRSA an established omnichannel business from day one. The acquisition aligns with the group’s strategy of combining retail and online operations across regulated markets.
CIRSA said Paraguay represents an attractive addition to its portfolio due to its stable economy and long-established regulated gaming framework, making it a natural fit for the company’s international diversification strategy. The deal is expected to strengthen CIRSA’s position in the structurally growing online gaming sector while enhancing the profitability of its digital business.
Joaquim Agut, Executive Chairman of CIRSA, said: “This acquisition reinforces CIRSA’s strategic commitment to accelerating growth in the online gaming space. Paraguay represents an attractive and highly stable regulated market, with strong fundamentals, and Slots del Sol provides us with a leading platform from which to continue expanding our online capabilities in the region.”
Antonio Hostench, CEO of CIRSA, added: “Slots del Sol has demonstrated exceptional performance, with outstanding capabilities in online operations. We are delighted to partner with its founding shareholders and are confident that we will be able to combine our global experience and best-in-class capabilities with their local knowledge and expertise to drive future growth. The transaction will contribute to improving the margins of our online gaming business.”
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, although CIRSA said the valuation multiple was consistent with previous transactions and that the deal will be financed from existing cash resources without materially affecting the group’s leverage.
This is CIRSA’s latest strategic expansion in Latin America, following recent investments across the region, and further underlines the company’s focus on growing its regulated omnichannel gaming business.
