On board the newest cruise ship in the TUI fleet, Merkur is opening its fourth cruise casino
The Merkur Group is further expanding its presence on the world’s oceans with the commissioning of the Mein Schiff Flow.
On board the newest cruise ship in the TUI fleet, the group is opening its fourth cruise casino. The casino is operated by the Merkur subsidiary Merkur Casino Mare, which has stood for first-class casino entertainment on the high seas for many years.
The Mein Schiff Flow is the second ship of the new InTUItion class from TUI Cruises and offers space for around 4,000 guests. The modern ocean liner combines varied travel routes with varied gastronomy and a multifaceted range of leisure activities. A highlight is the new ship casino of Merkur Casino Mare: This extends over two areas and combines an extensive range of games with a modern ambience. In addition to 21 slot machines, visitors will also have access to two live gaming tables for blackjack and poker.
“The opening of our fourth ship casino underlines the growth ambitions of our group of companies in this market as well. The Merkur Group stands for consistent guest orientation, a first-class range of games and an upscale ambience in which our guests feel comfortable. We are also resolutely implementing this principle of success in our ship casinos,” explained David Schnabel, CEO of Merkur Casinos at Merkur.com AG.
Kathy Schröder, Head of Casino Operations at Merkur Casino Mare, added: “The launch of the fourth casino on a TUI Cruises cruise ship is an important step for us. The ‘Mein Schiff Flow’ offers the ideal setting for a high-quality casino experience and therefore we are pleased to be part of the leisure offer on board and to provide our guests with unforgettable entertainment.”
Merkur Casino Mare has been part of the Merkur Group since 2016 and specialises in the operation of casinos on cruise ships. The entry into the cruise industry initially took place on four ships of the Spanish shipping company Pullmantur Cruises. Since 2018, the company has been responsible for the casinos on TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff fleet. Following the successful openings on Mein Schiff 1, Mein Schiff 2 and Mein Schiff 3, Mein Schiff Flow is now the fourth location to complement the portfolio.
