US – Terre Haute set for April 5 debut in Indiana

Terre Haute’s new casino will open to the public in Indiana on April 5, with the adjacent 10-story luxury hotel to open with about 125 rooms on May 15.
Terre Haute Casino Resort is owned by Churchill Downs Incorporated. The official groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 21, 2022, and the full casino and entertainment resort is anticipated to open in early 2024.

The launch of Terre Haute Casino Resort extends beyond physical structure; it’s about creating a vibrant and integral part of this community, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring this exciting chapter to life.”
Once completed, the approximately $290m Terre Haute Casino Resort will feature 1,000 slot machines; 35 table games including blackjack, craps, roulette, and poker tables; a 122-room luxury hotel with pool; a state-of-the-art TwinSpires Sports Book; and 5 restaurants and six bars.
The casino resort will create approximately 500 jobs with a mix of full-time and part-time employees. It is expected to also generate up to 1,000 construction jobs.
Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun said: “While I am ecstatic that a new tourist attraction is coming to our city, I recognize the safety and transportation concerns associated with the opening of Terre Haute’s casino.”
The April 5 event will serve as a grand opening for the casino floor and several food and beverage offerings including: Four Cornered Steakhouse, Rockwood Bar & Grill, The Soda Shoppe, Crossroads Center Bar, and The Queen’s Beans Coffee Shop. The opening of the property hotel and Altitude Bar and Lounge will follow on May 15, 2024.
The casino opening celebration will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, live entertainment, and promotions throughout the day. Additionally the first 1,000 customers to enter will receive a special Terre Haute Casino Resort opening commemorative t-shirt.
