A further 29 casino licenses have been suspended, with another 23 expiring

Cambodia is making progress in its nationwide crackdown on technology-based scam networks, with authorities revoking the licences of 20 casinos and suspending the licences of 29 others, while 23 casinos licences expired.

A report from the Secretariat of the Ad Hoc Commission for Combating Online Scams, says the authorities have taken action against 751 suspected scam locations and have shut down 605 locations between July 2025 and July 31, 2026

As part of the campaign, authorities also investigated 195 licensed casinos and took action against those linked to online scam activities.

As reported by the Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Touch Sokhak, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, said the closures demonstrated the Government’s determination to combat online scams and make sure that Cambodia did not become a money-laundering haven for technology-related crime.
