North Fork Mono Casino opened its doors in Madera, California, last week, welcoming its first guests on October 27 ahead of its originally scheduled opening time. The $750m casino development is managed by Station Casinos, a subsidiary of Red Rock Resorts, in partnership with the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians.

The new property features more than 2,400 slot machines and 40 table games, making it one of the largest gaming destinations in California’s Central Valley. Its dedicated High Limit Room offers a further 138 slots and 10 table games, alongside a private bar and cashier facilities. The casino has been designed around a contemporary gaming floor featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that introduce natural light into the gaming environment.

The development also includes eight dining venues and four bars. Its flagship restaurant, Manzanita Steakhouse, offers farm-to-table dining, live piano entertainment and a wine selection featuring more than 250 local and international labels. The property’s Clubhouse 99 sports bar features 56 large-screen televisions and more than 20 beers on tap.

The opening marks a significant investment in tribal gaming in California, with the total development cost estimated at approximately $750m.
