Swiss Casinos has published its 2025 Annual Report, revealing a year of strategic transformation that saw the operator strengthen its market position while investing in new venues, digital innovation and omnichannel gaming.

The group generated gross revenue of CHF207.1m in 2025, slightly ahead of the previous year, while group profit increased to CHF12.6m despite what it described as a challenging market environment. Swiss Casinos also contributed CHF91.1m in casino taxes, including CHF85.6m allocated to Switzerland’s state pension system (AHV).

The year was marked by the opening of the new Swiss Casino Winterthur in the city’s historic Lokstadt district and the closure of the group’s Schaffhausen casino in October. More than 90 per cent of employees from the Schaffhausen operation remained with the company following the closure.

Hans-Ueli Rihs, Chairman of the Board of Swiss Casinos Group, said: “2025 was a year of change and important strategic decisions for Swiss Casinos. We are proud of our new Swiss Casino Winterthur and look forward to continuing to develop this unique venue.”

Located within the restored industrial Lokstadt development, Swiss Casino Winterthur combines a casino floor with entertainment and hospitality facilities, including the public LOK Bar & Lounge and the KOPFBAU event venue. The property is also serving as a testbed for new technologies, digital solutions and enhanced entertainment concepts.

Online gaming remained a key growth driver for the business, with revenue from its online casino increasing to CHF76.2m during the year.

Swiss Casinos also continued development of ReelLink, its proprietary technology platform that connects online and land-based gaming by enabling digital casino content to be deployed directly onto physical slot machines.

CEO Marcel Tobler said the Swiss casino market was undergoing significant change, requiring operators to move beyond traditional business models.

“We want to actively evolve the casino experience through stronger destinations, a better understanding of our guests, new entertainment and event offerings, and a closer integration between land-based and digital gaming,” he said. “With Winterthur, the Swiss Casinos Member Club and ReelLink, we established important foundations for the next phase of the group’s development during 2025.”
