Continent 8 appoints Mike Small as CEO as Michael Tobin becomes Chairman

Continent 8 Technologies has appointed Mike Small as Chief Executive Officer, marking the first leadership transition in the company’s 28-year history.

The appointment took effect on 15 July, with founder Michael Tobin moving from the CEO role to become Chairman. Tobin will focus on governance, long-term strategy and stakeholder relationships while supporting the leadership transition.

Small joins the role after serving as a Strategic Board Advisor to Continent 8 over the past year. He brings more than 25 years’ experience in global technology leadership, most recently as President of Akkodis North America and US Country President of The Adecco Group, where he led technology, engineering and managed services businesses while helping to advance the company’s AI strategy.

His previous roles include CEO – Americas at Sitel Group and senior leadership positions with IBM, Hewlett Packard, Capgemini and VXI & SYMBIO Global Solutions.

Based in Miami, Small will lead Continent 8’s next phase of growth, with a focus on expanding the company’s global footprint, strengthening customer relationships and developing its infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity and AI-enabled technology portfolio.
