HIT Group has begun reopening its Slovenian casinos after restoring information systems affected by a cyberattack earlier this week.
The operator detected the cybersecurity incident during the night of August 24–25. The disruption forced HIT to close six properties: Perla, Park, Casino Drive-in, Mond, Korona and Casino Fontana. Its hotels continued operating with limited services.
HIT said specialist teams launched a forensic investigation immediately after discovering the incident. The company also notified the relevant government institutions and worked with external cybersecurity experts to restore its systems.
In an update published on August 28, HIT said it had successfully established the technical conditions required to begin reopening the affected casinos. The operator did not specify whether all six properties would resume operations simultaneously.
HIT subsidiaries Casino Larix and HIT Alpinea continued operating normally throughout the disruption.
The cyberattack resulted in a multi-day interruption to HIT’s core land-based gaming operations. The company has not disclosed the origin of the attack, the extent of any data compromise or its financial impact.
