The province of Santa Fe has moved to formalise a segment of its online betting market by granting licences to four sports betting platforms.

The authorisations follow a provincial process under which the local lottery and gaming authority invited applications from prospective operators, evaluated their technical and financial capacity and assessed their compliance with policy objectives such as channelisation, consumer protection and revenue generation.

The four successful operators are Casino Puerto Santa Fe SA, operating under the domain santafe.bplay.bet.ar; Casino de Rosario SA, which will offer betting through citycenteronline.bet.ar; Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo SA together with Correón SA, behind the BetWarrior brand at betwarrior.bet.ar; and Slots Machines SA, which will operate jugadon.bet.ar.

Under the terms of the adjudications, the licensees have up to 180 days to begin operations in the province. According to the provincial resolution, they will pay a monthly fee equivalent to between 15 per cent and 16 per cent of betting profitability, with the precise rate depending on the terms agreed with each firm.

Those revenues will be channelled through the Social Assistance Fund and will increase the funds available for social and assistance programmes across the region, allowing the government to present the new licences as both a regulatory and a social‑policy measure.

As part of the award process, the provincial government approved the catalogues of sporting events on which the public will be able to place bets. It also set out supervision rules designed to ensure transparency and regulatory compliance, including active monitoring by the Santa Fe authorities of the betting offer available on each licensed website.

The provincial body retains the power to modify event lists or even revoke authorisations, in whole or in part, where it deems this necessary for reasons of security, sporting integrity or regulatory change, giving the authorities continuing, direct control over the content and scope of the local online betting offer.

At the end of last year, the Legislature approved—during extraordinary sessions—Law 14.427, which regulates online gaming, as well as the bidding documents outlining the public tender.
