Thunderpick has confirmed that the Thunderpick World Championship Finals 2026 will take place at BLAST Studios Malta from October 14-18.

The esports betting operator’s independent Counter-Strike 2 tournament will bring together eight teams competing for a $1m prize pool.

The championship returns to Malta following the 2025 Finals, when FURIA recovered from a 2-0 deficit to defeat NAVI in a reverse sweep and claim the title.

Seven of the eight places at this year’s Finals will be awarded through direct invitations based on the Global VRS rankings. The remaining place will go to the winner of the TWC 2026 Global Qualifier, with the full line-up due to be announced in mid-September.

Kelly Sanders, Head of Strategy at Thunderpick, said: “The Thunderpick World Championship has always been about creating the kind of tournament we’d want to watch ourselves.

“Counter-Strike fans don’t need manufactured hype, they remember incredible matches, impossible comebacks and new stars breaking through. That’s what this championship has delivered over the past four years, and we’re excited to see what story unfolds in Malta this October.”

All matches from the five-day Finals will be broadcast live across Thunderpick’s Twitch, Kick and YouTube channels.
